Björn Dahlström, Formgivare
Born 1957 in Stockholm and working with graphic and product design in the industrial and furniture sector. Began in mid 1970s with animation and graphics for film and TV-productions. From 1978 employed as art director and graphic designer in an advertising agency working mainly with printed design.
Started his own company 1982 concentrating on graphic design for clients like Ericsson, Scania, Atlas Copco etc. Today 80 percent of of the work concists of industrial design. Among the clients are Primus (torch and soldering eqipment), Atlas Copco (products for the building industry), Aqua Play (toys and systems for waterplay), Playsam (woodentoys), Gewa (electronic handicap aid), Skeppshult (bicycles), Hackman (cookware), Magis Italy (plastic products), Plank Italy (wooden furniture) and Fjällräven (outdoor equipment). He has also produced graphic design and animated videos for several of the clients mentioned above.
During the 90s Björn Dahlström has successfully started several furniture projects. The main client in this sector is cbi interior (member of the Swecode-group). Among international prices, he has been awarded Excellent Swedish Design several times.
1999-2000 he was a professor at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. He has also been teaching at for example Beckmans School of Design.
Björn Dahlström is seated in Stockholm, Sweden and is a member of Swedish Industrial Designers, SID.
